ADAS Calibration Overview
Your vehicle’s ADAS system can help you because it constantly senses, detects, measures, calculates, and responds. It can perform these intricate and interrelated tasks only if calibrated properly. The sensors must be properly adjusted in relation to the external environment, other parts of the vehicle, and in some cases, one another. When you bring your transportation to us for this important work, we’ll ensure that the system works properly by performing static and dynamic calibrations. Static calibration involves our ADAS tool, one or more targets, and an alignment rack. An important aspect of calibration is wheel alignment to ensure that your system accurately interacts with road surfaces and markings. Once the stationary work is completed, we’ll move on to the dynamic phase. This involves taking your vehicle out for a drive so that the cameras and sensors can be adjusted to account for motion. Depending upon the complexity of the system incorporated into your car, a properly calibrated ADAS can help you with a number of tasks that make driving safer. It can, for instance, prevent you from missing a random object or occurring event in your path, stopping your auto before you hit the car sitting ahead of you, or striking a pedestrian who has walked out into traffic. It can also assist you in maintaining lane control, warning you when you’re veering across lines or when there’s another vehicle in your blind spot.
